LocalVery Good Local is a growing guide to Tippecanoe County. It connects people to businesses, places to work, events and community resources. We welcome submissions; we do not claim that the directory already includes every organization in the county.
A basic listing is free
An operating business, public place or organization in Tippecanoe County can be considered for a factual listing without buying advertising or joining a fundraiser. Clearly identified nearby regional resources may also appear. Competitors can be listed in the same category.
Listed is not endorsed
A listing means we have public information to help you find the organization. It does not mean the organization is a sponsor, has approved a sticker offer, has been personally visited, or has received a professional-quality or safety certification.
How recommendations are chosen
Our guides group useful options by purpose: a free afternoon, a family outing, a meal, a festival or a place to explore. We consider county relevance, practical information, current official sources and a clear reason the place fits that guide. Guides are suggestions, not a numbered ranking of every local option.
We are not currently publishing a Google-derived “Top Rated” score or claiming that Google endorses our recommendations. We do not present third-party stars as reviews collected by Very Good Local. New places can be suggested even if they have little review history.
Sources and freshness
We link to official business, organizer, civic or institutional sources. A source-check date means those details were checked on that date; it is not an inspection or a guarantee. Where older catalog information has not been rechecked, we say so instead of giving it a new verification date. Confirm current hours, accessibility, ticket availability and prices with the source before visiting.
Events and seasonal places
Confirmed dated events leave upcoming views after their end time. Past event pages and evergreen festival guides can remain useful, but are labeled accordingly. We do not assume next year’s date from last year’s schedule. Weather and cancellations can change plans.
Team offers are separate
Only an approved offer on your team’s page applies to that sticker. A business or team can request a match, but neither request approves an offer. Locations, terms, dates and any category-conflict rules must be agreed before participation. Find your team’s offers.
Paid promotion never buys an editorial pick
Any paid placement must be labeled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement.” Payment does not buy ordinary directory inclusion, a favorable recommendation or a better editorial ranking. A team-support badge describes a specific approved relationship, not a general quality award.
Claims, corrections and privacy
Owners can request factual updates. We verify authorization before treating a claim as owner-confirmed; a submitted form is not proof. Please use public business information, not private residential addresses or children’s details. Photos must be original, permissioned or appropriately licensed.
